App Terms of Service

These terms are for the FreelanceDesk mobile app. The website has its own terms at /terms/.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of FreelanceDesk (the "App"), published by LYGENEX Labs ("we", "us", "our"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

FreelanceDesk is a local-first app for freelancers to manage clients, orders, invoices, payments, and related business records. Your data is stored on your own device, as described in our Privacy Policy.

2. Subscription and free trial

FreelanceDesk is offered through a paid monthly subscription billed via Google Play Billing. Eligible new subscribers receive a free trial period before billing begins; the exact length and price are shown in the App and in your Google Play purchase confirmation before you subscribe. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription automatically renews and you are charged the subscription price shown at the time, on a recurring monthly basis, until you cancel.

3. Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel anytime through Google Play (Google Play app → Subscriptions, or via the "Manage subscription" link inside the App). Cancelling stops future billing; it does not retroactively refund the current billing period. Refunds are handled according to Google Play's own refund policies, not by us directly.

4. Your data and backups

All App data is stored locally on your device. You are solely responsible for exporting and safekeeping your own backups. We are not able to recover your data if your device is lost, damaged, reset, or if the App is uninstalled, because we never hold a copy of it.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and not to reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to bypass the App's subscription or security mechanisms.

6. Invoices and business content you generate

Any invoice, PDF, or document you generate using the App is your own business record. You are responsible for its accuracy, including tax and legal compliance in your jurisdiction — the App is a tool to help you produce these documents, not a source of tax or legal advice.

7. No warranty

The App is provided "as is." We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose, and we are not liable for lost data, lost income, or other damages arising from your use of the App, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

8. Changes to the App or these Terms

We may update the App's features or these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes to these Terms, we will update the effective date above and the in-app copy under Settings → Legal. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Termination

You may stop using the App and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or discontinue the App if required by law, by Google Play policy, or for operational reasons.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
